Christmas

Our 2019 Christmas Appeal is now underway!

At Christmas, parents and carers can visit our ‘Christmas Shop’ here at Wood Street to pick presents their children would most like, from a range donated to us for ages 0-14 years. We may also have other treats like advent calendars and selection boxes to take home.

If you think you may need help with toys and treats for your children this Christmas, please visit our For Families page which will tell you what to do next to be referred to us, or ask someone supporting your family to visit our For Referrers page. All our services are free for families to access.

How You Can Help

Christmas for many of us is a time of joy, gifts, and precious time with family. However it’s also an expensive time of year, and can be an especially difficult time for those families struggling to make ends meet. Wood Street Mission has provided toys for local children at Christmas since the charity began in 1869, and it continues to be our busiest time of year. Every year, thanks to our supporters, we collect thousands of toys and goodies to distribute to families in need across Manchester and Salford.

We are now accepting new toys, gifts and books for children age 0-14 years old and donations can be dropped off with us at Wood Street from Monday to Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm.  If you need us to collect items please drop us an email to collections@woodstreetmission.org.uk.

You an also help by sharing details of our Appeal online using #woodstreetxmas and #woodstreet150.
