2020 will be a Christmas to remember

23rd December 2020
Up until a couple of months ago we didn't know if we'd be able to go ahead with our 2020 Christmas Appeal. Something that would've been a heart-breaking first in the 151 year history of Wood Street. But we are incredibly fortunate to have fantastic supporters and in stepped Great Northern to provide a venue to ensure that we could provide toys and gifts to children again this year. It was even more important to support struggling families after such a tough year, and help children have a happy Christmas.
Thanks to your generosity we have been able to provide toys and gifts for 3,861 children across Manchester and Salford, to make sure they wake up with presents to open on Christmas Day. We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and are so grateful for every single gift, financial donation and act of kindness, and the demonstration from so many that you wanted to do something to help others, especially after a hard year yourselves. More than ever this year, we have been blown away by the kindness of so many children who have not wanted to see other children go without this Christmas. Each one is a credit to their family and school.
Donations have come in and gone out so quickly it's been quite a challenge to keep up with thanking you all, particularly on social media and our team have been flat out, ensuring families are supported in the best possible way. We hope you know that every single gift and act of support is valued and appreciated and you have made Christmas 2020 one to remember for the RIGHT reasons. From all of us here at Wood Street and every family that we support thank you so so much from the bottom of our hearts. We hope you all have a Merry Christmas
