For the last 150 years, Wood Street Mission has been supporting families with the essentials for day to day life – children’s clothes, school uniform, toys, bedding and toiletries – and projects focused on reading and literacy to improve children’s life chances.

HOW YOUR SUPPORT HELPS

  • £5 will buy a brand new book for a child to take home at one of our Book Clubs
  • £10 will provide a new toy for a child at Christmas
  • £20 will provide a winter coat to keep a child warm and dry
  • £40 would kit out a child with new uniform for the start of the school year
  • £100 would provide a family with a cot and bedding for a new baby to ensure safe sleeping

NEED HELP, OR KNOW SOMEONE WHO MIGHT?

All our services are free for families in Manchester and Salford to access on referral.

Families need to be referred to Wood Street Mission by a professional who knows their circumstances well – for example, someone at their child’s/children’s school, a social worker, health visitor or support worker.
