We're Not Scared!

Our holiday book clubs promote reading and literacy to children and their parents by distributing high quality children books free and engaging families in fun literacy activities.

The next event is in the Addy Centre in Wythenshawe on Friday 28 October between 10 am and 12 noon.

The club's featured author is the brilliant Michael Rosen, who has written a wide range of books for children of different ages, but is probably best known for the pre-school classic We’re Going on a Bear Hunt.

Remember this? "We're going on a bear hunt / IWe're going to catch be a big one / What a beautiful day /  We're not scared"

As well as choosing from a great selection of books, children attending the event can enjoy a story-time session, participate in drawing and story competitions, and test their IT skills on tablets loaded with literacy apps.

All local families who are living on a low income are welcome to attend.

We are looking for donations of children’s books, especially Michael Rosen books, for the event. We are also accepting donations of dressing up costumes – new and good quality second hand.

Want to come along to the event?  The Addy Centre’s address is Woodhouse Lane Manchester M22 9TF.   There is no need to book.

These events are suitable for pre-school and primary school children.
