Post Your Memory

We have been helping families at Christmas time since the 1870s.

Many people around Greater Manchester can remember queuing up as a young child on Wood Street to receive a toy from Father Christmas.

The event made a big impression and is often recalled vividly many years later by people who have gone on to lead full and successful lives.

Was your family helped by Wood Street at Christmas time many years ago?

Can you remember receiving a toy – perhaps a doll or car – from us as a young child?

We have launched a campaign to collect the stories of former service users.

Post Your Memory is aimed at recording data about our past and raising awareness about child poverty in the run up to our 150th Anniversary in 2019.

If you, or a friend or relative, have a story to tell email Sophie or give her a call on 0161 834 3140, and we will send you out some Post Your Memory postcards.
