Books Are GRRReat!

Our Easter book club is in Gorton on Friday 8 April between 10 am and 12 noon.

The event - which is supported by BASF - will focus on the work of Julia Donaldson, author of the Gruffalo, Room on a Broom and What the Ladybird Heard amongst many others.

Families attending the event can choose books to take home, take part in fun literacy focused activities and enjoy a hot nutritious lunch. The events are aimed at promoting reading to children and importantly their parents as literacy is a passport to a good education.

Thanks to support from the Charles Camilleri Foundation we will also have face painters and a brand new Julia Donaldson book for each of the children to take home.

Fancy coming along the event? The book clubs are open to all families living on a low income in Manchester and Salford. They are suitable for pre-school and primary school children - not teenagers.

Fancy donating? All good quality new and used children's books, from first books to books suitable for confident readers, are welcome.

The Easter event is being held at Collier House, former Methodist Church, Wellington street, Gorton M18 8TX (opposite North Gorton children's centre). Call 0161 834 3140 for more information.
