Invest In Our Cities Futures

Children growing up in low income families do less well at school than better off peers which puts them at risk of unemployment or low paid, insecure work when they grow up.

SmartStart improves children’s life chances by helping kit them out for school so they fit in with peers, engage at school and can grow up to fulfil their potential.

Both Manchester and Salford have high levels of child poverty with 1 in 3 children living below the poverty line.

Your business can help invest in our cities future and break the cycle of poverty by supporting our SmartStart appeal in one of the following ways:

- Become a SmartStart partner. Help meet your company’s CSR objectives and get positive publicity by supporting a high profile, successful local initiative.

- Make a financial donation - £1500 is enough to kit out a whole reception class in a deprived area for the new school year while £5000 will provide 100 children with a warm winter coat and school bag

- Are you a retailer or supplier of school wear or other school goods like shoes, sports kit or stationery? Why not make a donation to our SmartStart appeal?

Call our SmartStart Business Development Manager, Chris Ajayi on 0161 834 3140 or email for more information.
