Books Are GRRReat!

Good reading skills are a passport to a good education..

Yet children in low income families are almost a year behind peers with language development by the age of 5, and almost half will leave primary school with poor reading ability.

Our book clubs promote reading by distributing thousands of good quality children’s books free to low income families and providing children and their parents with fun literacy-focused activities, and a nutritious lunch.

They are held during holiday and half-term breaks in community centres, churches and sports halls around Manchester and Salford.

You can support our book clubs by donating good quality children’s books (suitable for children aged 0-18!) or organising a collection in your school or workplace. Download our book club poster here

Our next book club is on Monday 10 April at the Jain Community Centre in Longsight. The address is 667/669 Stockport Road, Longsight, Manchester, M12 4QE. All welcome
